What We Believe
That which we hold to be importantly true, and serves as the foundation for our actions
Here at Delta Church, the wholeness we want to experience and share with the world comes from knowing and following Jesus. Jesus' person and life are the basis and foundation for the entire Christian faith. All of Scripture testifies about Him (Luke 24:27,44; John 5:39). So, in one sense, Jesus is the summation of 'What We Believe'!
But specifics can be helpful, so here's a more systematic summary:

Core Doctrine
One True God
In short, that there is something instead of nothing. SomeONE instead of noONE. This God is the Creator of heaven and earth and the Redeemer of mankind. He has further revealed himself as embodying the principles of relationship and association as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit (Deuteronomy 6:4; Isaiah 43:10,11; Matthew 28:19; Luke 3:22). Our clearest picture of this divine being comes from Jesus.
The Deity of the Lord Jesus Christ
The Lord Jesus Christ is the eternal Son of God. The Scriptures declare: a. His virgin birth (Matthew 1:23; Luke 1:31,35). b. His sinless life (Hebrews 7:26; 1 Peter 2:22). c. His miracles (Acts 2:22; 10:38). d. His work on the cross (1 Corinthians 15:3; 2 Corinthians 5:21). e. His bodily resurrection from the dead (Matthew 28:6; Luke 24:39; 1 Corinthians 15:4). f. His exaltation to the right hand of the Father (Acts 1:9,11; 2:33; Philippians 2:9-11; Hebrews 1:3).

The Bible is Inspired
The Scriptures, both the Old and New Testaments, are inspired of God are the infallible, authoritative script of the story of God and God's interactions with humanity and the world. (2 Timothy 3:15-17; 1 Thessalonians 2:13; 2 Peter 1:21)

The Problem (Sin)
'What's Wrong with Our World?' Humans were created good and upright; for God said, “Let us make man in our image, after our likeness.” Each of us carry the spark and essence of God! However, humans have chosen to reject God's ways for our own ways, and thereby incurred not only physical death but also spiritual death, which is separation from God (Genesis 1:26,27; 2:17; 3:6; Romans 5:12-19).

The Solution (Salvation)
Man’s only hope of redemption is not through rules to follow or good works to check off. It only through what Jesus has already done and continues to do through His Church. Salvation is received through repentance toward God and faith toward the Lord Jesus Christ. By the washing of regeneration and renewing of the Holy Spirit, being justified by grace through faith, man becomes an heir of God according to the hope of eternal life (Luke 24:47; John 3:3; Romans 10:13-15; Ephesians 2:8; Titus 2:11; 3:5-7).
Our Core Values
Open-Handed
(choosing trust over control)
We are generous, and resist living in a scarcity mentality because our God provides all of our needs (Matthew 6-7; 2 Corinthians 9:8; Philippians 4:19).
We give and serve our church and world, following the example of Jesus who first gave us everything (Acts 4:33-35; 2 Corinthians 9:6-12; Galatians 6:2 Ephesians 4:11-18; Philippians 2:1-11).
Whole-Hearted
(showing up full, not fractioned)
We are transparent and allow Jesus to have access to every part of us, hiding nothing from him (Deuteronomy 6:4-5; Psalm 119:10-15; Psalm 139:23-24; Luke 10:26-28; Romans 12:1-12). Discipleship is about inviting health into every part of our lives.
We invest in and care for our health as people and as a church. Importantly, we put people over ministry because people are the ministry.
Spirit-Sourced
(surrendering our story for Jesus')
We rely on the Holy Spirit to lead and empower us though our increasingly complex world, and clarify our mission (Acts 1:8; Romans 8:2-6:26).
The Holy Spirit points us to Jesus and illuminates Scripture (Luke 3:22; John 14:15-17, 26).
We pray and seek God first, and we live and serve from this place; and not doing this by our own strength, but with the help of the Holy Spirt and the gifts given to us (1 Corinthians 12).
