About Delta Church

Our Lead Pastors

Pastors Delta Church in Sunbury Ohio Christian Church in Sunbury Ohio

Welcome! We are
Mike & Ashley Hadinger.

This region of Central Ohio is just plain cool; it has both deep roots and unprecedented larger-than-life dreams that are going to impact the rest of Ohio and the world. After a decade of serving as staff pastors in Ohio, we've settled here because we want to be a part of what God is doing in this city and region. We became Lead Pastors of Delta Church in 2024.

Mike was raised in both the Cleveland area and Mexico (as a missionary kid). Ashley grew up in Cleveland, in church, but also not in a Christian home. We love Ohio sports, exploring local places with our son, and spending time with people.

We're passionate about following Jesus and living out the story of Scripture. We want to be people that are being changed by Jesus and making the world around us better, and that's who we want our church to be too. Most of all, we think church can be fun and healing and healthy and real...and we'd be honored for you to join us!

Our Mission

We aim to be the kind of people...

... where every area and season of our lives is

changed and made whole because Jesus is there.

A delta is what happens when a river meets the ocean. The river branches out and fresh water mixes with salt water to create something different, something new.  Jesus (as our friend, John 15:15) embraces and (as our king, Philippians 2:9-10; John 18:36) rearranges our relationships, finances, careers, friendships, romantic pursuits, callings, politics, worldviews, passions, dreams, enjoyments, hurts, traumas, and brokenness. In every season (highs, lows, and routine middles) Jesus calls us to follow, trust, and worship Him.

... and our lives naturally overflow Wholeness to the world around us.

The area around a river delta is full of life, thriving, and healthy because the richness of the delta naturally impacts the world around it. As Jesus makes us whole, we naturally begin influencing the people and world around us. (Proverbs 27:17; Matthew 5:13-16; Matthew 28:19-20; John 7:36; Romans 15:13; 1 Thessalonians 1:1-10).

Our Core Values

Open-Handed

As a church, we are generous, and resist living in a scarcity mentality because our God provides all of our needs (Matthew 6-7; 2 Corinthians 9:8; Philippians 4:19).

We give and serve our church and world, following the example of Jesus who first gave us everything (Acts 4:33-35; 2 Corinthians 9:6-12; Galatians 6:2 Ephesians 4:11-18; Philippians 2:1-11).

Whole-Hearted

We are transparent and allow Jesus to have access to every part of us, hiding nothing from him (Deuteronomy 6:4-5; Psalm 119:10-15; Psalm 139:23-24; Luke 10:26-28; Romans 12:1-12). Discipleship is about inviting health into every part of our lives.

We invest in and care for our health as people and as a church. Importantly, we put people over ministry because people are the ministry.

Spirit-Sourced

We rely on the Holy Spirit to lead and empower us though our increasingly complex world, and clarify our mission (Acts 1:8; Romans 8:2-6:26).

The Holy Spirit points us to Jesus and illuminates Scripture (Luke 3:22; John 14:15-17, 26).

We pray and seek God first, and we live and serve from this place; and not doing this by our own strength, but with the help of the Holy Spirt and the gifts given to us (1 Corinthians 12).

Our Beliefs

The One True God

The one true God has revealed himself as the eternally self-existent “I AM,” the Creator of heaven and earth and the Redeemer of mankind. He has further revealed himself as embodying the principles of relationship and association as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit (Deuteronomy 6:4; Isaiah 43:10,11; Matthew 28:19; Luke 3:22).

The Deity of the Lord Jesus Christ

The Lord Jesus Christ is the eternal Son of God. The Scriptures declare: a. His virgin birth (Matthew 1:23; Luke 1:31,35). b. His sinless life (Hebrews 7:26; 1 Peter 2:22). c. His miracles (Acts 2:22; 10:38). d. His substitutionary work on the cross (1 Corinthians 15:3; 2 Corinthians 5:21). e. His bodily resurrection from the dead (Matthew 28:6; Luke 24:39; 1 Corinthians 15:4). f. His exaltation to the right hand of God (Acts 1:9,11; 2:33; Philippians 2:9-11; Hebrews 1:3).

The Scriptures Inspired

The Scriptures, both the Old and New Testaments, are verbally inspired of God and are the revelation of God to man, the infallible, authoritative rule of faith and conduct.

(2 Timothy 3:15-17; 1 Thessalonians 2:13; 2 Peter 1:21)

The Fall of Mankind

Man was created good and upright; for God said, “Let us make man in our image, after our likeness.” However, man by voluntary transgression fell and thereby incurred not only physical death but also spiritual death, which is separation from God (Genesis 1:26,27; 2:17; 3:6; Romans 5:12-19).

Salvation

Man’s only hope of redemption is through the shed blood of Jesus Christ the Son of God. (a) Conditions to Salvation Salvation is received through repentance toward God and faith toward the Lord Jesus Christ. By the washing of regeneration and renewing of the Holy Spirit, being justified by grace through faith, man becomes an heir of God according to the hope of eternal life (Luke 24:47; John 3:3; Romans 10:13-15; Ephesians 2:8; Titus 2:11; 3:5-7).

The Baptism in the Holy Spirit

All believers are entitled to and should ardently expect and earnestly seek the promise of the Father, the baptism in the Holy Spirit and fire, according to the command of our Lord Jesus Christ. This was the normal experience of all in the early Christian Church. With it comes the enduement of power for life and service, the bestowment of the gifts and their uses in the work of the ministry.
